The daffodils are in bloom and the mornings are warming up! Spring is in the air! Spring is always a welcome season here in Ballarat! And with the sun also comes many wonderful events to explore… from Springfest around our Lake Wendouree to the many farmers markets. We have made it easy for you and put together a list of what’s on in Ballarat during the Spring months.

Admire the natural surrounds of Ballarat’s Lake and gardens precinct in the springtime as you explore six unbelievable kilometres of market stalls, events, activities and fun for all the family, set up against the serene backdrop of Lake Wendouree.

There are almost 500 market stalls to browse, offering a wide range of food, art and craft, music, clothing, jewellery, plants and flowers, performers, car displays and activities to suit all interests.

BOAA – Biennale of Australian Art – will be the largest visual arts festival showcasing living Australian artists.  Presenting artworks by 150 of Australia’s most innovative artists from 21 September – 6 November 2018. An equal selection of artists from each state and territory reflecting the true diversity of Australian Art. BOAA will tell Australian stories; stories of our past, present and future, reflecting what it means to be Australian today.  It will have a strong Aboriginal focus, as well as celebrating our multiculturalism. BOAA will tell stories of our past, present and future, a celebration of what it means to be Australian today, a celebration which  marks our time and place within history.

The 2018 Victorian Seniors Festival takes place across Victoria throughout October.

The Festival experience is all about getting out and about in your local community and beyond.

This month long celebration offers more than 2,000 occasions for fun, pleasure and the chance to try something new or different in a friendly atmosphere at little or no cost. Catch up with friends at a Festival event or meet people when you explore something on your own.

Every council gets involved and have all kinds of different events happening.

Creswick Garden Lovers Weekend

This annual community event, now in it’s fifth year, is organised by Business & Tourism Creswick Inc. All profits are used for local Creswick projects. We invite you to visit the scenic, historic Central Goldfields Region of Victoria and see an array of diverse private gardens, iconic commercial gardens and nurseries, and more.

This year’s event will be held on:

Saturday 10 November, 9.00am to 5.00pm
Sunday 11 November, 9.00am to 4.00pm

Visit private gardens, iconic commercial gardens and nurseries, and more. This is a weekend that offers something for all garden lovers.

Private garden entry: Adults $5 per garden; children free.
